Hey Everybody-
First off, good things. The Wando Jazz Band did a great job at the South CArolina Jazz Assessment Festival in Newberry this weekend, and our very own Tyler Epperson did a great job with the All-State Jazz Band, along with 7 other Wando students. This is a great opportunity, and something I hope all the Bassists, Drummers, and Mallet players all get the chance to experience in the future.
Also, the percussion ensemble piece for the 8th grade honor group went out this week, so we will be seeing the 8th graders here on campus towards the end of the month! This is such a fun opportunity, and a huge recruiting tool for us, so let’s make it a great experience for them! Juniors and sophomores interested in leadership will be called upon to help with rehearsals, setup, and general kid herding.
Also, be sure to check out the recordings and transcripts of the Afro-Cuban songs we will be singing here.
